Hi Joe,

Thanks for following up. While the feature to output all client data has been mostly completed we are working on finshing up the functions to create recurring profiles in the API. Thanks for asking.

Note: We released a small update to our API in late September.

I, too, would like bi-directional functionality. I'd love to be able to write a small applet on our website that uses Freshbooks client database and password as the back-end authentication. That way, we don't have ONE set of username/passwords for freshbooks and another set to manage their account settings on our server.

Hi Joe,

Currently that feature is not available at the moment. However, we plan to release a new and more complete API in the coming months. Currently our API is limited to creating clients, creating invoices, sending invoices, and checking invoice status. Please follow our blog for API updates or visit our forum.

Cheers,

Is there a way by which you can extract information from the freshbooks database? For example, I would like to be able to access all client information - using the API - and using it in one of my applications. Possible?

"I thought I should add that we are going to be adding a forum and other resources for developers and other folks to share code like these scripts and discuss various implementations, and uses of, the api. Also, we'll be featuring the API work of others on this blog and rhroughout our site.<br /><br />So go ahead, build something cool and we'll help spread the word!"
