Hi Mike, Great Post.

I am a FreshBooks Client and own a professional service business specializing in online marketing, web development, and Internet business consulting for small to medium businesses. We advise our clients on how they could use technology and the Internet to make their business more eco-friendly and efficient. In general, the nature of our business is green. Web based business solutions save time, money, and resources. (no paper, ink, transportation, waste, etc.). (I.E., FreshBooks).

We recently completed our carbon audit and purchased enough credits to have a negative carbon footprint. It is important for all businesses to become a voluntary carbon neutral company. Sooner or later it will be mandatory. Now is the time to start!

I am happy to hear of your commitment for a greener future.

[...] As many of your know I have been working on a project to determine what the environmental impact of our office is. Last week I got our assessment back, complete with the cost to offset our impact - here is a rundown. [...]

[...] I am weighing our office paper because we are going to be offsetting our paper use as I outlined here. In a nutshell there are organizations like Zerofootprint that will help you calculate the environmental impact your paper use has on the environment: trees used, pollution created, water used. Then, for a small fee, they will plant trees to offset your impact. [...]
