Hey Joe,

That contest is a pretty damn sweet deal and I wouldn't miss it for anything... perhaps a Timmy's Ice Cap but then I'd be back really quick. Though congratulations are a little early!

I love Brad's list. And he is sooOO spot on with #9. It is crazy madness that my boyfriend uses so many glasses in a day and expects me to wash them when I come home!!! It's absolute insanity.

Keep up the great work Joe and team!

After posting on the joys of working from home, I am up at Freshbooks HQ today wreaking all sorts of havoc. And word on the street tells me that Donna is our leading contestant in our Custom Login Page contest. Congratulations!

As for Brad - well, I guess you can still look forward to the 5 mile jaunt to the gym!

3 years later + wife and kids

1) Barney and friends playing at obscene volume while dogs bark at ants on floor
2) Every five minutes your wife walks in asking how to use the remote
3) Afternoon honey-do projects
4)Traffic commute - The piece and quiet
5) Thank god the dog has quit trying to bite it
6) Gym five miles aways has some damn hot chicks walking around
7) Crap... I have been awake 5 minutes and I have to work already!
8) The wife jabbers on while you have to listen, undertand, and care about her feelings - I wish I could ignore like those co-workers
9) Use only 1 glass a day, don't leave out the dishes, and for god sake don't eat my healthy diet food.
10) Work when you are not being a tech support agent for your family, a cook and slave for your kids, lawn is mowed, dogs are fed, with ear plugs in, and the sun rose in the exact angle needed so you don't have to fix those broken blinds!

Reality check for the other half.

I do love the idea of working from home, and have done so in many occasions. I also love sleeping in and waking up naturally than living by the alarm clock.

However, the last point you have of working when you feel motivated 24/7 is a little misleading because it's not really productive to sit around 24/7 waiting to be motivated to work.

You definitely have to have more self-descipline in regards to setting goals and getting things done. Otherwise, it will just be another lazy weekend day... everyday.

Your list is very cheeky and I actually have a bestfriend developer who shares your view on the ups of being an at-home worker.

Cheers!
