Just wanted to send a quick note to let folks know something many people have been asking us about, “Will FreshBooks integrate with 37Signals‘ truly excellent project management web app Basecamp?” You bet. And for the record we think Basecamp is awesome too.
So…here’s the deal…a release coming soon will make it incredibly easy to bill your clients using FreshBooks for the work you do in Basecamp. Some might say it will be a painless way to invoice your clients…that’s our thing.
So…hang in there…there are plenty of exciting goodies for you just around the corner for you here at FreshBooks, and we can’t wait to deliver them to you.

Any date (if in fact it’s forthcoming) for integrating FreshBooks with a general ledger software like QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online for a complete set of books (expenses, full balance sheet, etc.)? Our financial management solutions consulting firm regularly gets calls from early-stage entrepreneurs who would welcome a combination like that.

Wow! I just started using Basecamp and am thrilled with it. I thought it would be great if it integrated with FB, but then I thought I was just being unrealistic and a bit of a blluesky dreamer . . .
And now I find this blog entry!
superb news . . . and I’m really looking forward to it . . .

I really hope that this integration will not depend entirely on the Basecamp “Time Tracking” feature!
1. This feature requires the $50+ Basecamp account, which a lot of folks simply don’t use (although these same folks may very vell use Freshbooks)
2. And more importantly to me personally, I have a Basecamp account that does include their Time tracking feature, and you know what? Their Time Tracking feature isn’t so hot.
I plan on keeping our Basecamp account, but downgrading it.
The money would be better spent by sourcing our Time Tracking with something more robust and useful like Harvest (www.getharvest.com) or Tick (www.tickspot.com).
And, of course I still plan to keep using Freshbooks.
So my point here is that myself, (and I’m sure many other FB customers) would like to see some Basecamp Integration for sure, but please, please, please don’t hinge it on the Basecamp Time Tracking feature.
How about some integration with Harvest or Tick too?

Any update on when the Basecamp+FreshBooks integration is going to take place. I’m chomping at the bit

Hi Rick,
I have seen a working beta version of the integration, so it would be safe to say that we are past the half way point. I recommend you subscribe to our blog and you will be notified by email or RSS on new information regarding Basecamp integration.
Cheers,

Can you tell us a tiny bit about the features then?
Will we be able to import time logged in Basecamp?
Or will it only add client contact information?
Or… ???
I’m chomping at the bit too… and needing to make some decisions in the short term about how to do things. It would be really helpful to know something about what exactly the basecamp integration will do.
Thanks!

I’d like to echo Sam’s comments, as FreshBooks has been pretty quiet about this for the last 3 months. Any light you could shine on this would be very well received…

Basecamp coming very soon…it’s built (Levi did an awesome job on it) and we are just finalizing the designs of it and putting finishing touches on the recent timesheet release.
Thanks for being patient; hang in there just a little longer and you will be pleasantly surprised…Basecamp is our next release and it is very close at hand - I’ll write a blog post soon.
Cheers,
-Mike

It would seem that budgeting time is the killer app (along with billing it of course)

Even more killer…a time creation machine

We have just launched an API for Tick, http://www.tickspot.com/api/. I would be happy to help Freshbooks with the integration!
