Seems like an odd combination, Morgan Stanley - one of the world’s top investment banks mentioned with FreshBooks the leader in online invoicing? It makes a little more sense when you put it in the context of the Web 2.0 conference that finished up this week in San Francisco. FreshBooks is in attendance and Mary Meeker from Morgan Stanley did a presentation on Wednesday on the state of the internet.
I wasn’t there, but Michael was and he was really impressed with her talk. She is enthusiastic about online video and makes the Google acquisition of YouTube look brilliant. There is a lot of really fascinating stuff in this presentation, so I recommend you look it over if you are interested in where the internet is going. I have seen Mary Meeker speak a couple of times and she is amazing. Nice work getting a mention!

Thanks Jocelyn. When I wrote this post I didn’t really understand the significance of Mary Meeker in the history of the internet. Our friend and advisor Jerry King filled me in last week and as it turns out I’m not sure if being mentioned by Mary is such a good thing after all
However, I am certain she has learned a lot since the 2000 bubble.

I’ll tell you what…after seeing Mary’s presentation at the Web 2.0 Summit, I am delighted to be mentioned. Her presentation was one of the highlights of the entire event and a real eye opener as to the significance of the online video market.
