Just the thing I need!

Look forward to it—i've been doing a lot of juggling to get line items in proper order with invoices that have line items sorted by date.

Big Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

There is actually an existing feature which allows you to default the number of starting lines. This should allow you to start with more lines on your invoice so you do not have to click on the “add line” link at all.

1. Click on your “Invoice” tab above.
2. Click on your “preferences” link above.
3. Increase the value next to “Line Items”
4. Click on your Save button below.

Hi Steve,

Statements or an account balance feature has recently been a common request and it is something that we are planning to add in a future release of FreshBooks. While we have no release date for this feature, you will be notified in our blog (much like this post) as well as our email newsletters.

Cheers,

Thanks for the examples and suggestions guys.
Justin: The drag-and-drop functionality is pretty nice. There are a couple other places in FB where this could be used so we may consider working this in at one point.
Jonathan: Adding lines happens without reloading the page so it's pretty quick and seamless. Thanks, we will consider your suggestion

Nice feature... though I am still looking forward to statements. When do you think those would be out? You know, from a recurring revenue stream point of view, now that you have ground mail in place - I would think that statements would be a bonanza for you.

How about a feature to add multiple lines to an invoice? It's rather tiresome to have to press the add line item link 5 times and watch the page reload 5 times. You could have a drop down box with numbers, or you could just an option to add 1 line item, or 5 (or whever number >1 you like).

Nice addition! Adding some drag-and-drop interaction so you could then reorder things would be pretty chubby.

Example I found a few weeks ago:
