Released: Version 4.4 is Footloose
This morning we deployed a new release: Version 4.4 which we’re calling “Footloose”. Why footloose? In honor of Daniel who broke his ankle a month ago and just got his cast removed.
What’s in this Release?
Better tracking of billed hours. Prior to this release, we relied on date ranges to figure out which of your timesheet hours were billed or unbilled. This caused problems if you logged hours the same day you created an invoice. Now we track exactly which hours appear on what invoices, making the process much more intelligent and user-friendly.
Sexy login pages. Your login pages now feature your system colors, and your company’s logo!
Complete list of currency codes. FreshBooks now includes all currency codes and symbols, and when you choose a currency, we’ll pre-populate the symbol.
Time Tracking Widgets. We recently launched our own Mac OS X widget for tracking time, and pointed out that Goran – a FreshBooks community member – has built a Windows desktop time tracker.
There are more details about the release inside the application. Be sure to click the “4.4” link at the bottom of your account for more information – especially as they pertain to how we are handling logged hours – past and on a go forward basis.
Happy Monday.

I was about to go yell my guys to find out who had ordered the customized login page when we were not ready for it yet… lol
I love branding and that just made it better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SWEET!!! Totally digging the new login page!!! Thanks! Looking forward to the other updates too!

The login page is awesome!
Hey, I just noticed that I can access my login from the billingarm feature. Is that part of the upgrade too?

Funny, I was just looking last night for pricing for a customized login page. This fits the bill perfectly.
Thanks

Great work FB! I love how you keep your product feature smart and simple to use.
Also, for other freshbookers with mobile phones that run Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system such as the Moto Q, Samsung Blackjack, Treo wx, HTC models, etc.
I released a small, free application for your Windows Smartphone (and Pocket PC). It is similar to the invoicesync, but works on the go. It also has a timer that support a rounding up to the next billing increment; and the ability to view raw data of the last 50 clients, invoices, payments, time entries from your mobile phone.
My next FreshMobile feature will be a way to enter payments on the go (I always forget, and they get emails for late payment)…and as soon as they support it via , adding an expense on the go.
I’d be interested in hearing feedback and feature suggestions.

In the future it would be cool if API supported non-billable expense (i.e. lunch, mileage) tied to a client for profit tracking and taxes…especially from a mobile phone with GPS support (i.e. commute/mileage tracker)

Nice surprise for a Monday morning. Good job!

Whilst I can (and do) use my iPhone to add invoice entries i I would love to see an iPhone formatted alternative site to make it a little easier……
Please don’t think me churlish to imply that I find fault -what’s not to love about FreshBooks.
I hated invoicing and it would take me ages now I do it whilst still at the client…..
Thanks
Dean

To add to Dean’s comment…
I don’t think I’d still be doing independent consulting if it wasn’t for freshbooks.
Just the auto-email on late invoice pays for itself.
Thanks again for a great product.

I am really impressed by how far Freshbooks has come in such a short space of time. I would recommend this facility to anyone who asked.
Keep up the good work

I am very pleased with FreshBooks and my clients love their own login pages. It is definitely helping “brand” my image
In the time tracking where the notes are available, I always enter in notes for a specific task and I DO want my clients to see that. That is considered their daily report. Unless I create a draft invoice or print out the page, they cannot see it. I hope that in the Near future that You Rockin’ FreshBookers will enhance this a bit more…
Since my company is growing, it is reassuring to know that FB is growing and developing new ways to save us time and money.
You all are the best!

Hi guys,
Thanks for the upgrade. The branded login is nice and smart looking.
I hate to be ask but I did mention a while ago with a few other users. We have a need for clients to be able to pay a deposit on their account before we generate an invoice at the month end. We have generated an invoice and requested the deposit but it it not the way to do it.

I asked for the logo on the login page.. and you guys listened! Thanks!

Great work guys. The branded login page is such a pleasant surprise.

New login page is exactly what I would have wanted for the custom page – it’s like you guys can read my mind…Now if only we Linux users had a widget for time tracking too…I’m sure it will be soon!
Many thanks for all of your help – invoicing used to be the worst part of freelancing – it is no longer.
