ZenDesk and the Art of Support Ticketing

Taking care of customers is Job Number 1. For many clients, the most important point of contact is your customer support desk. One of the best support ticketing tools available is ZenDesk, and now they have built a time tracking integration with FreshBooks using our API.

While working on a ticket, you can now track your billable hours simply and easily with their FreshBooks widget. Set it up for all your employees at once. No muss, no fuss. You can then log into FreshBooks and generate invoices for all your hours or service.


The FreshBooks widget hovers eagerly on the right, waiting to track your time!

Try it out by signing up for ZenDesk, and adding the widget. You can do so by going to the Accounts menu, selecting Widgets and clicking Add widget. ZenDesk has also written helpful instructions on configuring the widget.

Nice one chaps. I have not checked if this is supported by your API, but it would be great to also share the actual Company names, contacts and addresses between the two apps. Make one the master db – preferably Freshbooks! :-)

Can FreshBooks just buy ZenDesk and integrate it? This is precisely the system that should be built into FreshBooks.

Better yet, if a full API were created for FreshBooks’ support system, then ZenDesk might be able to easily integrate.

I don’t want my clients to deal with more than one system – I will hobble* along for now.

*sorry, this is a bit harsh, but when I see products like ZenDesk I am reminded by how much the FreshBooks Support system could be improved.

I agree with Joe! I, too, don’t want my customers to use 2 systems. Let’s upgrade the freshbooks support tab to include more features.

In response to the last 2 comments, you’re customers don’t have to use zendesk. They just send an email to you, and zendesk intercepts it and converts it to a ticket for your team.
