We’re so proud to announce that the development studio Groovy Squared has built a delicious native iPhone app for FreshBooks, MiniBooks for FreshBooks.
Earlier this year, we published one of the first open source iPhone apps, which was an offline time tracker for FreshBooks. We hoped that others would come and better us.
Well, MiniBooks has smashed all expectations. You can create and edit clients from the phone. It integrates with the iPhone address book. You can can create multiple timers. And as you can see from the screenshot, you can credit, edit, and send invoices from your iPhone. It even allows you to enter payments as the client hands you the check!

WOW WOW WOW! This little app is exactly what I need! Very clean, very fast, works great! Now I can add clients right in my client meeting with them, no laptop necessary. Thank you, thank you!

Looks great. Unfortunately, the aspect most crucial to our needs that could be handled via a phone, would be the ability to create and edit Projects and Tasks. We’re holding out for app or waiting for an upgrade.

Nice. Love it. But for the FB folks, I am still asking for you to consider those of us who do not bill time. I am a dog walker. I would love to have my trusty iPhone with me as I work, and BOOM, just did a dog walk for client x. Boom, just did a bath for client y, etc, through the week, and and the end of the week just send invoices for all work done during the week. Please?

I believe with MiniBooks you can create an invoice and save it as draft before sending it to your clients. That should pretty much allow you to do what you just described above

Just what the doctor ordered. I have been evaluating Freshbooks and a very strong competitior. This probably swings it in FB’s favor.

Groovy Squared developer here. Rest assured that Project and Task management is very high on our list of upcoming features. We’re currently working on adding support for Estimates, but Projects and Tasks are next up on the queue.

Looks nice, but doesn’t look like it has multiple account support. That’s the one major issue I have with the FreshBooks one. I guess I could use the FreshBooks one for one account and this one for another. I am a staff member on two company accounts that must be completely separate, being a contractor in one isn’t an option. I would really like to see an app that lets you switch between multiple accounts.

Great app, long overdue. Suggestions, some of which echo previous posts:
1. Multiple Freshbooks account support
2. Basic reports/overview
3.Client view – show how much they have invoiced outstanding/YTD
4. Compressed invoice view – inv numb, client name, amount, status

I just tried MiniBooks out last night and it was great! Definitely a good app for any FreshBooks user with an iPhone / iPod touch.
I like the apps implementation of the contact information – clickable and copyable – nice!

I agree with a couple of the above comments. I just want something that will make it easier to tabulate my duties as I am working and simply export the results on a weekly, daily, monthly – WHATEVER basis.
Is there anything like that out there?

@Michelle, you can use MiniBooks to rack up your work as you go through your day, and then log into FreshBooks to grab report on your activities.
