Tell us why you love what you do and win!

by Rayanne Langdon  |  February 12/2010  |

One of the coolest things about working here is talking to customers every day who clearly love what they do for a living as much as we love delivering great customer experiences.

Being a successful freelancer or a small business owner takes passion – it takes commitment, energy and heart. We know you wouldn’t work so darn hard at what you do if you didn’t love it so much. It’s inspiring to work with so many FreshBooks customers who are building successful businesses around the things they love to do.

With Valentine’s Day this weekend, now’s the perfect time to share some of this passion and inspiration. Tell us why you love what you do and you might win one of the special Valentine’s gifts we’ll be dishing out every 15 minutes TODAY between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST.

To show you what we mean, we’ll start things rolling for you:

Grace: I love my gig because it’s sooOOoOOo fun! I feel like my life is a vacation!
Rayanne: I love my gig because of our really smart, cool and nice customers : )
Ben V: I love my gig because of Corey.
Corey: I love my gig because of Ben V.

Now it’s your turn! Click the link below to tweet why you love your job with the hashtag #fblove to play along and win!

I love my gig because…

As a translator, I get enormous satisfaction making ideas accessible to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to understand them because of a language barrier.

And hey, being a polyglot is pretty cool in itself!

I was exposed to computers back in ’84 in High School (know I’m dating my self). Our school had a BBC Micro and I immediately fell in love and the computer understood me and I could control it.
Later we got LEGO (the language) and a Thick ethernet LAN, which I help setup in the LAB and that was it..

I love what I do because I can make life better for others. Making music to make people feel better, and building websites to make business for my clients better!

I love what I do because no day is the same and every morning I wake up excited to get to going! Helping the little guys compete with the big dogs in cluttered world is a thrill to me. Small brand budgets, big brand ideas! Nothing better then making something outta nothing..

I love my gig because it’s challenging. I take a language that software developers get and create information that makes sense to our customers. It’s like being a translator, but I’m making our customers quickly learn how to use our products, without frustrating them like most user guides do. =)

I love my gig because I created it! Was miserable in my former corporate life and started a going concern of a coaching practice. I also love my gig because I get to work with the most amazing clients who are motivated to step into their greatness. How thrilling is that?

I love what I do because it feeds my passion for helping people with issues they need to solve or learn about. There’s something satisfying about leaving a computer working better than when I found it, and watching a lightbulb go on inside someone’s head as they discover they just learned how to do something new. At times its hard to believe I make money doing this.

Didn’t hear about this contest until today. Even if it’s too late to win, I want to express my gratitude for the lucrative, (primarily) home-based business I have built over the past few years, as a voice over professional. I get to flex my creative muscles on commercials, narrations, trailers, video games, etc. I can audition, record, edit and invoice…all from the comfort of my beautiful Hollywood home!

Yes, it’s too late to win, alas – but don’t stop telling us how much you love your work. It’s inspiring stuff!
