Grand opening of FreshBooks Add-StoreWe are very excited to open the doors of the FreshBooks Add-on Store! Come on in, you’ll find great new ways to get more out of FreshBooks as your business grows.

After running our Add-ons program for over two years, we realized the next evolution of the program was to make it easier for our customers to find, buy, and manage Add-ons all from within their FreshBooks accounts. Plus, the Add-on Store will further motivate third-party developers to build our customers amazing new things.

Add-ons are tools that extend the functionality of FreshBooks so you can customize FreshBooks with the features you need for your business. They allow FreshBooks to stay simple while providing your business the flexibility it needs to successful.

You can explore the Add-on Store from your FreshBooks account. Just log in and click on the Add-on Store link in the top right menu.

FreshBooks Add-On Store - Grand Opening

What are some of the apps in the Add-on Store right now which integrate with FreshBooks?

ReportAway! for BlackBerry – Send invoices, track time and manage clients from your BlackBerry. ReportAway! offers the power of FreshBooks on the go.

Highrise Importer – Highrise helps you manage your leads and keep your clients happy. When it’s time to invoice them, use the importer to bring them into FreshBooks.

Constant Contact Exporter – Keep in touch with your clients using Constant Contact. Your clients can be exported into Constant Contact, ready for your email campaigns.

Peachtree Connector – Manage your invoices in FreshBooks and have Peachtree do the accounting. The connector keeps Peachtree in sync with your FreshBooks invoices and payments.

Late Payment Fees (for FreshBooks) – Automatically update your invoices with late payment fees when your clients don’t pay on time. You set the terms and it takes care of the rest.

To find even more applications that integrate with FreshBooks, there are over 60 in the Add-ons Directory.

Looks like a way for Freshbooks to charge customers for features that should be included as part of the yearly subscription.

In addition to billable line extensions, the entire system is useless to my company as it doesn’t allow for add ons to be used by Macs.
What is this 1995? Looks like we’re looking for another invoice system.

@Doug – can you elaborate? I’m not sure I follow. A significant percentage of our customer base are Mac users…we’ve got iPhone apps and the whole bit.

Would be great if you could clarify.

@Sean, the Add-on Store is an evolution of our Add-on program. Our goal is on one hand to support and encourage more third parties to build useful tools to extend FreshBooks, and on the other, help our customers better manage optional functionality.

We remain totally committed to the core product. You should expect from FreshBooks (and every subscription service) continual development in return for paying us a premium. You don’t have to pay more for upgrades to the core product.

It’s true, though, that we may build an Add-on when no one else has or at least to our satisfaction, like we did for the Highrise and Constant Contact connectors.

Great billing program – BUT being able to attach documents (even if just pdf) would make it an even better program!!

Currently struggling to find a way of exporting my invoices with tax summary in a tabular format (i.e., one row for each invoice with a column that shows taxes). The standard Invoice detail report is not very useful the way it’s formatted.

I can export from the invoice list but can’t find a way to have it show the tax info. Going to be some very late nights if I have to go through each invoice to manually enter the tax line for each in order to sort out my 2011 taxes.

Any advice?
