Intuit Anywhere previews with FreshBooks
A few months ago, our friends at Intuit invited FreshBooks to be among the first few partners of Intuit Anywhere, their new platform that connects web applications to data in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online. Today, although it is not yet available to users, Intuit began previewing Intuit Anywhere for developers and media.
It’s hard to overstate how wonderful it is to have online access to data in QuickBooks on the desktop and QuickBooks Online. For years, FreshBooks customers have asked for a high quality data integration with QuickBooks. Unfortunately, without a great way to get the data, we never felt we could provide a great user experience to FreshBooks customers.
Intuit Anywhere makes this possible. The whole experience is based on the familiar “OAuth” flow that popular services like Twitter and Google use to share data easily between web applications. FreshBooks customers will be able to connect to QuickBooks starting from inside FreshBooks—and that makes all the difference.
Intuit customers will also be able to connect to FreshBooks from inside QuickBooks Online through the Intuit App Center. It’s also hard to overstate how great it is that Intuit keeps investing to introduce their millions of small business customers to cloud services.
We’re also happy to see Intuit, a fellow member of The Small Business Web, invest heavily in Open APIs to get the job done. Intuit Anywhere is good news for the Web.
Help us out. Want to be a beta customer?
As you know, we don’t often talk about our product roadmap. While we know many of you are itching to try this out, the connector is not ready yet.
We will need your help make sure this connector is up to your standards before we ship it. If you are willing to be a QuickBooks connector beta customer, please let us know.

Sunir,
You have just placed a very large smile on my face. That is such great news.
I know I recently wrote about Intuit’s upcoming project, SharedBooks, which is clearly another branch of this new goal of theirs to have their database more easily accessible online. For those of us who work with remote clients, this is going to be a huge relief.
I will definitely be requesting access to the beta.

Awesome post…….

Problem is… it is limited to USA an UK only. Canada will not benefit from this until they get the tax tables.

I’m super interested in this. Is this still happening. This post is from July. Being November and not seeing anything makes me wonder if this project didn’t get dropped.
4:19 pm
I’m wondering if anything is happening with this too. I signed up for the beta and haven’t heard a peep, and the link to Intuit Anywhere at the beginning of the article brings up a page that just says “directory listing denied”.

Ditto, what is going on with this? Please update us!

Same here! Update?
12:06 pm
Any updates?? I don’t see any responses to others asking. An update would be the courteous thing to do for your users.

Hello Freshbooks,
Folks have been asking for an update on the QB/FB integration for 2 months. Can someone let us know the status? Is it going forward? When?
Many thanks,

Do you have any new updates? Say an approximate launch time frame?
7:10 am
This is the only barrier preventing my company from adopting Freshbooks for time tracking and invoicing. I am checking daily for news on this!
3:13 pm
Tick tock tick tock. Customers are being lost every day that we don’t hear anything!!
