Canadian postal strike hits Toronto: FreshBooks will deliver your invoices

Update: The Canada Post interruption is continuing. FreshBooks will continue to offer invoice delivery for small businesses in Toronto until the end of the business week. FreshBooks also did a delivery run for Homestars.com on Wednesday featured in the Toronto Star.

pop us an email with pickup time and location and we’ll hand-deliver your invoice within 24 hours. Our offer to deliver invoices is available to any small business affected (not just FreshBooks customers) and exclusively for invoices. Our delivery day is tomorrow, Wednesday, June 15th, contingent on Toronto mail services remaining restricted and for folks sending invoices within the Metro Toronto region.

We’re dedicated to ensuring that your business goes uninterrupted and making billing as painless as possible.

Awesome.

Happily, all of our automated FreshBooks invoices will go out electronically as we sleep but this is a great show of why yours is the platform I built my SaaS business tools on.

Keep up the great work!

Oh man. I feel like sending my Toronto clients an invoice early, just to take advantage of this. Brilliant service from you guys, as always!

I’m guessing you meant ‘uninterrupted’ in that last sentence. :-)

I don’t live in Canada but if I did, I would still feel this same way: you all rock!!! That’s what true customer service is and I’m proud to be a part of the FreshBooks community ;)

Hey this is a great idea! But actually Canada Post have locked out all is staff for all the country. Do you plan to offer the same services in other “big” cities like Montréal, Vancouver, Halifax, …

Hi Xavier,
We’d love to extend our reach to other major cities but unfortunately we’re only able to go within reasonable driving distance of our offices here in Toronto. Are you stuck without a way to deliver your invoices?

I lived in Helsinki, Finland nearly 10 years ago and no one needed the post office to bill or get paid. A physical mail service for financial transactions is just about as necessary as zoos are in the modern age.
