Mobile Developer (Android)

FreshBooks needs solid Mobile developers to help us deliver mobile applications to our customers. We have a fantastic business and a quick-growing customer base, but more and more of those customers need mobile access to FreshBooks' services. You will be a key part of the team making this happen. Your objectives in this role will be:

Become the in-house expert on the Android ecosystem within 3 months

• Identify platform-specific feature opportunities for the app
• Analyze and identify potential architecture pitfalls or bottlenecks
• conduct peer code reviews and learning sessions
• research and share news and information on this fast-changing field

Commit production code to the FreshBooks Android app within 6 months

• execute on features and bug fixes using Java, Android framework and Eclipse
• develop comprehensive unit tests with 100% code coverage
• coordinate development activities with QA, Product and Customer Support teams

Develop ongoing technical strategy for Android within a year

• Ensure the app supports all modern Android OS updates according to the Android UI Guidelines.
• produce accurate estimates of development effort, bringing those to iteration planning
• grow your up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of Android
  • participate in the local Android community in Toronto
