QA Automation Wizard

Assuring the quality of FreshBooks is a heavy responsibility. Our development team deploys in rapid iterations, and our QA team needs to respond to that agility but still make sure our services remain reliable and accurate for our customers.

We rely on technology and new practices to stay ahead of the curve, with extensive test automation, both front-end and on the server. Our test infrastructure is complex, but we're still building it out. We need you to come on board and direct this effort. You'll bring battle-tested wisdom and world-class development skills to put FreshBooks at the forefront of agile reliability. You'll write code, manage infrastructure and mentor team members as you lead FreshBooks automation towards a whole new level of high-speed development and deployment.

In the first three months you will:

• Maintain the existing Selenium test suites, which run on every code commit
• Continuously grow our automation framework by creating entirely new test cases and enhancing existing ones
• Write test cases and harness code in JavaScript and Python

After the first six months you will:

• Determine infrastructure needs and work with IT to provision required hardware
• Monitor the performance of the regression suite and improve where necessary
• Ensure product development is receiving prompt QA feedback from our Regression Suite
• Identify hiring needs and assist with the recruitment process
• Develop metrics to determine and direct automation's impact

After the first year, you will:

• Identify leading edge technologies and build or integrate them into our framework
• Provide training and mentoring to QA members outside of the Automation Team
