Small Business Writer

Is writing your passion? Does the thought of creating fantastic content to be gobbled up and relished by millions of fans get you giddy? Do you have a background as a writer and knowledge of the trends within the world of entrepreneurship? FreshBooks is looking for a fiery Small Business Writer to join our friendly, hard-working Communications team to help us write blog content, newsletters and web copy for our user audience. If you have a talent for writing clean, concise copy, are deadline-driven and enjoy having multiple projects on the go, we’d love to hear from you!

You will:

• Work closely with our editor to write pitch-perfect and distinctive content that fits our audience.
• Be assigned projects from multiple departments, producing innovative concepts that are original, on-spec and on-brand.
• Possess the ability to organize and run creative projects without heavy supervision/direction. We are a focused team and looking for additional teammates who are eager to do whatever it takes to pick up the reins on projects and move them forward to completion.
• Attend brainstorm meetings and participate in concept development sessions.
• Deliver a new level of value to our fans and broaden and deepen our audience.
• Have strong technical acumen, passion for technology, and strong knowledge of SaaS related products.

We need you to have:

• An understanding of small businesses and what’s important to them
• A solid working knowledge writing for the web
• Minimum 2 years experience as a web writer/content producer with a portfolio of work
• Degree in communications, marketing or relevant discipline
• Exceptional written communication
• Publishing or agency experience
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Respect for deadlines
• Positive attitude
• The desire to make an impact and be part of a exceptional team
