SysAdmin/DevOps (Linux)

We need a DevOps-oriented system administrator who knows how to keep FreshBooks fast, reliable and secure, and how to automate and monitor the dirty work so we can spend our time doing awesome things instead. You will:

Join in the responsibility for maintaining FreshBooks' outstanding reputation for availability, performance, and security, and showing us how we can do even better. You will work with the rest of the IT team and our developers to learn our current architecture and become a key contributor in architecting and implementing our technical plan for growth, both on our production systems and in our development and internal environments.

We need you to have:

• Fantastic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Several years of Linux system administration experience, preferably web-oriented
• Experience implementing fast, reliable and secure servers and networks
• Experience with Web stacks (we use nginx, Apache, PHP, Python, MySQL)
• Familiarity with configuration management (we use puppet) and revision control (we use git and svn)
• Awesome communication skills
• A passion for professional system administration practice

We hope you have:

• Familiarity with Web technologies beyond the LAMP stack
• Knowledge of SQL, and MySQL performance tuning
• Experience with continuous deployment

This position requires after-hours and holiday on-call support.
