FreshBooks Supper Club

Welcome the very second meeting of the FreshBooks Supper Club. We are calling this edition “Second Helpings” so if you are ready to dig in I promise there will be no leftovers!

For those new to the Supper Club, here is how it works, once a month the “FSC” will be delivered directly to your inbox and will be jam packed with profiles of the beautiful and talented people who use FreshBooks (Fresh Faces), Contests, FreshBooks Tips and Tricks, and my favourite, news and stuff from inside the FB walls. Among other things this section will outline what events and cities we will be visiting to spread the good word of FreshBooks.

Remember last month when we asked for your company stories so we could make some of you media darlings? Well I bet you thought we were joking when we said we wanted to feature you guys in our media requests....but we weren’t! These opportunities won’t fall in our laps all the time but the first FreshBooks Media Darling is from It’s a Dog’s Life NY. Elena was featured in amNY and we were super happy to do this for her! So if you want to be added to our list please drop me a note with your company name, location and anything cool or different about you and why you love FreshBooks!

It is always nice to be recognized for your hard work. Sometime it comes in the way of a pat on the back and a “Good Job” and sometimes it comes as an award from PCMAG.com! FreshBooks was awarded 4 ½ stars out of 5 and the very prestigious Editor’s Choice award!

...and PC Magazine are not the only ones giving us praise. A whole slew of you took the time to answer our Customer Survey and the responses that we got back made us blush. I know this Supper Club is getting a bit too self congratulatory but you when your customers tell you that 99% of them would refer you to others you tend to want to scream it to the rooftops!

RoadBurn Trip -> Depending on when you are reading this email Mike, Sunir and I will either be just leaving, on our way or back from our big FreshBooks RoadBurn RV trip from Miami to Texas. We are excited, excited and tired or exhausted from the trip but we want all of you guys (and gals) to follow our adventure! We have set up roadburn.freshbooks.com and will be updating it every day with photos, stories and video from the road, our customer dinners and anyone interesting we meet from the Future of Web Apps Conference and SXSW.

Fresh Faces: Bill Maus

The dictionary definition of a “superhero” is a person or thing having extraordinary or superhuman powers, and an exceptionally skillful or successful person.

That describes how I feel about FreshBooks.

Being a freelance artist and illustrator I have spent most of my life creating superheroes and futurist universes, so it isn’t unusual for me to spend 8 hours a day at my drawing table.

Before I found FreshBooks I could spend another few hours trying to make sense of the jumbled mess I liked to call my invoicing routine. Like most artists, I’m known for my art, not for being the most organized person in the world.
