FreshBooks Supper Club
Welcome to the very first meeting of the FreshBooks Supper Club. A sporadic meeting of minds, hosted by yours truly, one of the newest additions to the FreshBooks team, Saul Colt.
What does the supper club have in store for you? First off, it’s going to be jam packed with profiles of the beautiful and talented people who use FreshBooks (you folks, the Fresh Faces), Contests, FreshBooks Tips and Tricks, and my favourite, news and stuff from inside the walls of FB. The Supper Club will fill you in on what events and cities we will be visiting, so hopefully you can meet us in the flesh. One of the most important things you should know about the supper club, is that you can always reply to me directly (saul@freshbooks.com) and fire up a conversation about whatever’s on your mind – please don’t be shy!
So enough from me......let’s get to the “main course”! Oh and if you are not hungry for this sort of thing, click unsubscribe at the bottom of this message.
News and Stuff from inside the FB walls
FB in FaceBook -> People always confuse us for Facebook and we are not sure why. They are fun way to waste time and we are a fun way to save time. We don’t see the connection...but since we don’t want to lose any customers who may get confused we figured we should set up our own FreshBooks part of Facebook.... Please feel free to “fan us”....and to be clear we are not sure what "fanning" means but we think it has nothing to do with fig leaves and feeding us grapes, and we are pretty sure that steps over a line somewhere.
Media Darlings -> Are you ready for your close up? From time to time we get requests by fancy media folks for interviews. While we love to talk about ourselves we also like letting others talk for us......so we are looking to build a list of happy FreshBookers to be included on any media we may find ourselves with. Drop me an email letting me know your company name, your name, what you do and what is your favourite thing about FB. We can’t promise that everyone will get the call but we will try to get as many of you noticed right alongside us.....because, and I know this might sound sappy but, without you guys we wouldn’t have as much media calling us as we do.
FB Tweets -> FreshBooks has its very own Twitter account. This is where you can check in on the real pressing information about what is going on inside our walls.....ok maybe not the real pressing stuff but you can find out what some of us had for lunch. Go see for yourself!
Limelight -> Speaking of being spotlighted (and we know we are kinda repeating ourselves here but) if you have a cool story about how FreshBooks is making your life easier or just how much you love us....we want to hear it. I assure you that this is not for our ego but rather a cool idea we are cooking up. The best stories will be showcased in a fun way and may get your company even more attention!
Fresh Faces: Alec Kinnear, Foliovision
I don’t usually provide testimonials. I’m what you might call a difficult client; I build web applications myself, so I have high expectations. I don’t like when things don’t work the way I expect.
With FreshBooks, I’m enthusiastic about giving a testimonial. My business started to double every year at the point I started using it, and I’ve been able to expand my business more easily thanks to hooking up with FreshBooks in a serious way.

FreshBooks Tips and Tricks
Shortcuts and cutting corners in life usually hold you back from your goals but when it comes to computers.....Shortcuts actually help you complete your goals....weird huh? Here is one of our favourite time saving features of FreshBooks:
If you want to know what is up with your account at a glance, just check your RSS reader. Yep! Each FreshBooks account has its own RSS feed so you don’t even have to fire up FreshBooks.com to know what is up.
Want to set this up? Just follow these super easy steps!
Off the Blog: FreshBooks is hitting the campaign trail!
There has been a lot of chit chat around the FBHQ (FreshBooks headquarters) about the U.S. presidential campaign. We don’t all agree on who we want to see win but we can all agree that driving in a bus from town to town shaking hands and kissing babies sounds like a blast!
So much so that we got to wondering out loud if we should pick someone in our office to run for president… but then we remembered that not only are we all from Canada, but only one or two of us are even old enough to run
