Welcome to the July edition of the FreshBooks Supper Club. This virtual gathering of intelligent and very good looking people happens once a month and is delivered directly to your inbox. In here we jam an assortment of profiles of the beautiful and talented people who use FreshBooks (Fresh Faces), Contests, FreshBooks Tips and Tricks, and my favourite, news and stuff from inside the FB walls. Among other things this section will also outline what events and cities we will be visiting to spread the good word of FreshBooks.

Just flew in from California and boy are our arms tired!

Mike, Sunir and Saul just got back from an exciting trip out west. We unofficially dubbed our trip “SunBurn” in honour of RoadBurn (our last big trip). On this trip we went to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. We met some pretty amazing folks at our incredible customer dinners and since we were in LA we figured we should rub shoulders with some celebs, here and here.

I bring this up not to “rub it in” that we have fun when we travel but rather to remind you that we do these dinners because we actually want to meet you all. So if you see a dinner invite from us (next dinner is in Boston) please consider coming out...they are fun!

School may be out but that doesn’t mean you can’t get excited for Report Cards!

Running a business is tough. Rewarding but tough, and sometimes it is helpful to just know how you are doing... that is where we come in. Every Quarter FreshBooks offers you a Report Card on your business and lets you see how you stack up to others in the same industry. So next time you log in to your FreshBooks account, go see how you stack up by clicking on the Report Card link at the bottom of your account!

The single greatest iPhone contest ever!

Have you been touched by the iPhone yet... perhaps caught up in the hysteria? Did you know that FreshBooks works amazingly on your fancy phone? Because of this we want to give one away. Did you also know that because we are FreshBooks and we like to do things a little differently, we are giving away a super special “limited edition” collector’s item version of the iPhone?

All you have to do is answer the following question: What mobile phone do you use and do you use it for more than phone calls?

Email your answer to ME by August 6th and the person who has the winning answer (and by winning answer I mean random draw) will win an iPhone... but not just any iPhone. Saul (yes me) has decided to upgrade to a 3G iPhone and has provided for this contest his personal “retro” (used for only 4 months and is even “jail-broken” to work on any network) iPhone, complete with the box, case, cords, and special FreshBooks message laser etched on the back. Hey, anyone can award you a new iPhone but very few people can give you a limited edition collectable complete with Saul’s (my) fingerprints so if you get in trouble you can just leave the phone at the scene of the crime and he (I) will take the heat for you!

Cool success stories

Remember last month when we asked for some cool success stories about your company! Well No one sent any in! Because of this I am going to ask again and tell you that these stories will be featured on out web sites or possibly in a cool FreshBooks customer comic book of sorts... so get those stories in so we can make you a star!

Want to host a FreshBooks party in your home?

Yes I know we offered this up last month as well but the response was so big that we went ahead and ordered a bunch of TupperWare to send along with the kits... and now we have some left and want to get them in your hands.

If you are interested and/or willing to invite a handful of friends over to your house or office to show them what FreshBooks is all about we will not only send you everything you need to plan the event but we will also send you $25 to cover some snacks or maybe one of those really fancy pies!

Here is how this works:

• The first 50 people who drop me a note saying they wish to host a party and with an approximate idea of attendee numbers will qualify.
• We will send you a FreshBooks party kit full of FreshBooks stuff...and it will all come in a Tupperware like storage container.
• Host your party!
• Send us some pictures or post some pictures online and send us an invoice (through FreshBooks) for $25 to cover the snacks and we will send off your payment!

If nothing else comes from this you will at least get one of those really fancy pies! Pretty simple!
