FreshBooks Supper ClubI know we say this every month but this time we are not joking. We have been so busy with an office move and getting our patio furniture out of storage and all cleaned up that we almost forgot to write an intro to this month’s Supper Club. But like the night before a visit from the tooth fairy we know you secretly sleep with one eye open in anxious anticipation of intro because without it you wouldn’t know that this month’s Supper Club is jammed packed with FreshBooks goodness delivered directly to your inbox etc. So turn on some romantic music and let yourself get lost in the words that follow! News & Stuff From Inside the FB WallsShoeboxed Turns Your Receipts Into Invoices
If you’re like Levi (the man who controls the money around here), your wallet is probably stuffed full of receipts that you really could and should expense to your clients. Because Levi is a super important member to the FreshBooks team we made a real effort to find the best solution way to make this process more painless...and we found it! So it’s with great pleasure that we’re announcing an integration with Shoeboxed, the leader in online receipt management. Like the leprechaun from Lucky Charms, Shoeboxed magically transforms your piles of paper receipts into professional-looking invoices in FreshBooks. Just collect your receipts, snail mail them to Shoeboxed to be scanned and data-entered, and then export them to Freshbooks for easy invoicing. Yes, just mail them your receipts! They’ll take care of it for you. They are amazing. Don’t wait to be reimbursed. Say goodbye to your expense reporting pain. If you get started today, Shoeboxed is offering FreshBooks customers $10 off of any annual plan. New OfficeIf you took the time to read the carefully thought out intro to this months Supper Club you saw a mention of an office move...it is true! FreshBooks is now 59 feet closer to downtown then we were a month ago. We are pretty jazzed about our new space (even without the hot tub I specifically requested so I could write this every month in a moist environment) so as a way of making this place feel more like home and as a way to honor the 20th anniversary of the groundbreaking show 227 with Marla Gibbs and Jackee Harry I ask you...check that, I urge you to give us a call and leave a message at extension 227 to say hi....and if you do a Jackee impression you may just win something.
Going to SXSW Interactive?
Not sure if you noticed but we haven’t been travelling much in the last few months...well that is because we have been saving up some money so we can not only send a few folks from the office to The SXSW interactive festival from March 13-17 but we also want to make a splash while we are there. So! If you have plans to be in Austin for the festival please make sure you follow the FreshBooks twitter account as we will be tweeting places to meet up with us and take advantage of our generosity. Wanna Eat With Us In Austin?Like I mentioned above (literally...look up) we, and by we I mean (in alphabetical order) Saul, Rayanne and Sunir are planning a bunch of cool stuff for SXSW and one of the first is a SUPER SIZED Customer Dinner on the 12th of March. These dinners are super casual and fun and a great way for us to say thank you. All the local folks have been invited but if you are traveling from somewhere else drop me a line at saul@freshbooks.com and let me know so I can send you the info. Saul Speaking?FreshBooks Employee (of the month) for April 2009, Saul Colt, will be speaking on a panel at SXSWi (have you picked up on a theme of this months Supper Club yet?). Saul is presenting on Building a Brand with Web 2.0 Tools and will have some pretty fancy folks speaking with him...like C.C. Chapman, Julie Hadden and Loic Le Meur. So please put a big circle on your calendar around the date Saturday March 14th and come listen to us talk about how to build your personal/business brand bigger than the Beatles! Workshop: How to Build a Web App Business
Within most offices there is a healthy competitiveness to push each other to do great things. Inspired partly by the fact that Saul was talking at SXSWi, Mike McDerment (the handsome CEO of this here company) has decided to do a not so little, but very educational session of his own. On April 14th in the FreshBooks HQ, Mike (who may or may not be sporting a Zach Galifianakis beard) will be conducting a workshop on Building a Web App Business. This half day session will be an A to Z guide on getting something going. This is a full credit course and all people who stay to the very end will leave with not only have a full understanding of what they need to be successful but will also receive a diploma that you can frame and show people that you are smart! Thanks to Douglas (dougfl07 on Flickr) for the awesome photo of Mike. Quick Hits--> We are always adding great stuff to FreshBooks and in the last month we flipped the switch on Google Checkout as well as a pretty amazing integration with Clarity Accounting that will allow you to work with multiple currencies! --> ...oh ya, we also improved our already awesome Time Tracking functions and added a little something people have been asking for called (wait for it) Date Variables for Recurring Profiles! --> ...and finally, we are posting this little video Just for Kicks. See you next month! |
