New Office

If you took the time to read the carefully thought out intro to this months Supper Club you saw a mention of an office move...it is true! FreshBooks is now 59 feet closer to downtown then we were a month ago. We are pretty jazzed about our new space (even without the hot tub I specifically requested so I could write this every month in a moist environment) so as a way of making this place feel more like home and as a way to honor the 20th anniversary of the groundbreaking show 227 with Marla Gibbs and Jackee Harry I ask you...check that, I urge you to give us a call and leave a message at extension 227 to say hi....and if you do a Jackee impression you may just win something.

Going to SXSW Interactive?

Not sure if you noticed but we haven’t been travelling much in the last few months...well that is because we have been saving up some money so we can not only send a few folks from the office to The SXSW interactive festival from March 13-17 but we also want to make a splash while we are there. So! If you have plans to be in Austin for the festival please make sure you follow the FreshBooks twitter account as we will be tweeting places to meet up with us and take advantage of our generosity.

Like I mentioned above (literally...look up) we, and by we I mean (in alphabetical order) Saul, Rayanne and Sunir are planning a bunch of cool stuff for SXSW and one of the first is a SUPER SIZED Customer Dinner on the 12th of March. Saul Speaking?

FreshBooks Employee (of the month) for April 2009, Saul Colt, will be speaking on a panel at SXSWi (have you picked up on a theme of this months Supper Club yet?). Saul is presenting on Building a Brand with Web 2.0 Tools and will have some pretty fancy folks speaking with him...like C.C. Chapman, Julie Hadden and Loic Le Meur. So please put a big circle on your calendar around the date Saturday March 14th and come listen to us talk about how to build your personal/business brand bigger than the Beatles!

Workshop: How to Build a Web App Business

Within most offices there is a healthy competitiveness to push each other to do great things. Inspired partly by the fact that Saul was talking at SXSWi, Mike McDerment (the handsome CEO of this here company) has decided to do a not so little, but very educational session of his own. On April 14th in the FreshBooks HQ, Mike (who may or may not be sporting a Zach Galifianakis beard) will be conducting a workshop on Building a Web App Business. This half day session will be an A to Z guide on getting something going. This is a full credit course and all people who stay to the very end will leave with not only have a full understanding of what they need to be successful but will also receive a diploma that you can frame and show people that you are smart!
