FreshBooks Supper Club October 2008

This month’s Supper Club may be the biggest one yet (you should see the stuff that didn’t make the cut) so we are going to skip the intro where we explain that this is a virtual gathering of intelligent and very good looking people, and it happens once a month and is delivered directly to your inbox etc etc. We also have no time to remind you that this is an assortment of profiles of the beautiful and talented people who use FreshBooks (Fresh Faces), Contests, FreshBooks Tips and Tricks, and my favourite, news and stuff from inside the FB walls. Among other things this section will outline what events and cities we will be visiting to spread the good word of FreshBooks.

FreshBooks iPhone Time Tracking App

Forget the light sabre app or the rotary dial app...the coolest new iPhone application available in the iTunes App Store is definitely the official FreshBooks Time Tracking App. After a super simple download and a not so super simple input of your API key (sorry), you will be able to literally track your time from anywhere in the world...and by world we really mean universe as long as you have one of them fancy iPhones that is. To download the app for yourself all you have to do is mosey on over to the iTunes App store and search FRESHBOOKS.

What do Homer Simpson, Al Bundy, and Mike McDerment all have in common?

They all got their first national television exposure on the Fox Network! Yep, you read that right...FreshBooks CEO and Employee of the Month for September 2008 was on the Fox News show Money for Breakfast to talk about FreshBooks. Mike was awesome and made us all beam with pride so please go check out the video and see for yourself!

Some fun Facts about Fox...the cinnamon rolls in the greenroom at Fox are delicious, Mike was the only one not in a suit and his interview ran one day shy of the Fox Networks 22nd anniversary. Ok maybe that wasn’t a fun fact but it was a fact!

Something to Get Partially Excited For!

We tweaked a few things in the ole’ FreshBooks product. While you could always accept partial payments with FreshBooks, you can now SEE what invoices are partially paid and how much is still owing, right in your account. Read more about this tweak on our blog.

We Created Chaos and Found a STASH!!

We just got back from Orlando and Create Chaos and boy are our arms tired! [pats myself on the back for a joke well told] Create Chaos was a great conference and we were fortunate enough to meet some pretty amazing folks. We are never one to pick favorites because we saw a slew of stuff we loved but one of the coolest things we saw at Create Chaos was STASH Magazine. For those not familiar with them (don’t worry we didn’t know of them either but we are glad we know them know), STASH Magazine is the planet’s only monthly DVD showcase of animation and VFX.

Interesting stuff happens here all the time but something really interesting happened back in September...we crossed the 500,000 FreshBooks user milestone. You probably didn’t even know because we treated it as just a regular day here (yes we are THAT cool) but we wanted to do something super cool for the company that pushed us over the magical milestone. FreshBooks Fun in the Sun (and Sand)

As you may already know, we at FreshBooks like to have a little fun as a group. So every now and then we close the office early and do things that bigger and fancier companies would call “team building” exercises. So when word came down that this month we were going to get dressed in madras and go play in the sun and sand, we all got pretty excited...especially once people found out that fun in the sun and sand actually meant golfing. FreshBooks Golf day was a bunch of fun and notice there are a few folks missing from the picture because they weren’t listening well and actually went to the beach!
