FreshBooks Supper Club September 2008

This month’s Supper Club is jammed packed with stuff so we are going to skip the intro where we explain that this is a virtual gathering of intelligent and very good looking people, and it happens once a month and is delivered directly to your inbox etc etc. We also have no time to remind you that this is an assortment of profiles of the beautiful and talented people who use FreshBooks (Fresh Faces), Contests, FreshBooks Tips and Tricks, and my favourite, news and stuff from inside the FB walls. Among other things this section will outline what events and cities we will be visiting to spread the good word of FreshBooks.

Swiss Miss Breakfast

One of our favourite designer blogs to catch up on every morning is Swiss Miss. So when we had the chance to host a networking breakfast with Tina Roth Eisenberg (the Swiss Miss, a FreshBooks customer and designer extraordinaire) we jumped at the chance! This past week in the Swiss Miss Studio in Brooklyn, 30 or so of us got together (including one person virtually via Skype!) to drink coffee, eat bagels and chat about fun stuff people are working on. The event was a huge hit and I hope we can do it again...soon!

FreshBooks is Speaking at the Create Chaos Conference!

When you think of Orlando you probably have visions of sweaty folks with lots of hair, giving you hugs and posing for pictures. Well all that is about to change because FreshBooks is coming to town on October 15 to host “FreshBooks Live”, a day of education and entertainment as part of the Create Chaos Conference. Basically the Create Chaos event is 10 different conferences running at the exact same time on a bunch of topics around the creative community. We are pretty jazzed about being a part of this and we would love to subsidize a bunch of folks to come out. Freelancers Union Survey

Companies always tell their customers that they care about how they are doing...we say it all the time and while we mean it, we certainly hope you all see we prove it as well! Someone else who does more than just talk about caring is the Freelancers Union. Each year they conduct a survey to explore current issues impacting the independent workforce. This year, their survey is focusing on peoples’ experiences in the current economic climate and their opinions about institutions that deliver health insurance and retirement benefits. This is super important because the information collected is a significant component of the Freelancers Union advocacy campaigns that benefit folks just like you. We consider the Freelancers Union to be good friends of ours and really want to help them gather the info they are looking for and once all the results are tallied we, together, will fill you in on the results...so please take a few minutes to complete the survey, and feel free to pass the link around to anyone you think will be interested in this survey.
