How Does the Free Transactions Promotion Work?
Simply said, FreshBooks won’t charge any fees on payments you receive via FreshBooks Payments up to the value indicated. So, if a client pays an invoice for $500, then $500 will be deposited in your bank account.

This Is My First Time Using Online Payments, How Do I Ensure I Get My Money?
To simplify the process, your FreshBooks account already enables you to start accepting credit card payments. However, to receive those payments you will need to connect your bank account (so FreshBooks knows where you want your money to be sent).
Do I Have to Keep Using FreshBooks Payments After the Promotion Ends?
Not at all. Once you’ve used the free transactions you can stop using FreshBooks Payments if you wish. There’s no commitment, FreshBooks’ goal is to equip you with the tools you need to be as efficient and profitable as possible.
If you try out FreshBooks Payments and don’t feel like it’s the best option for you, feel free to turn it off. Of course, if it works for you, you can continue to use it.
If I Take the Offer, Do I Have to Use FreshBooks Payments on All of My Invoices?
Nope. FreshBooks understands that not all invoices or customers will be good candidates for credit card payments. On an invoice-by-invoice basis, FreshBooks allows you to decide which customers are given the option to pay by credit card. You can control this by selecting or unselecting the “Accept Credit Cards” option when creating a new invoice.
What Will My Fees Be After the Promotion is Over?
Once you have used up the full transaction value included in the offer, the transaction fees will revert to standard rates for credit card transactions. This is 2.9% + $0.30 per MasterCard or Visa transaction and 3.5% + $0.30 per American Express transaction.
That means for a $100 invoice paid via Visa or MasterCard, you’ll see $96.80 deposited in your bank account. With American Express, the amount deposited would be $96.20.
Does the Free Transactions Offer Expire?
Yes, it does expire. You will have 90 days from the start of the promotion to use the entire free transactions value. After 90 days any unused transaction volume will expire and you will be charged the standard transaction fees listed above.
If I Send an Invoice for More Than the Amount in Free Transactions, Will the Transaction Fees Still Be Waived?
For example, if you have been given $500 in free transactions and send an invoice for more than $500, you will be covered for the fees on the first $500 of the invoice. For example, if you send an invoice for $3,000 and it’s paid via Visa, FreshBooks will cover $14.80 of the $87.30 of total fees. This includes 2.9% on the first $500 ($14.50) plus the $0.30 transaction fee.
I Want to Use Stripe, Can the Transaction Fees for That Be Waived Instead?
FreshBooks cannot waive the transaction fees for Stripe payments at this time. But if you are using Stripe, you can use this opportunity to take FreshBooks Payments for a spin, no strings attached. It Looks Like I Was Charged Transaction fees Even Though I Signed Up for the Promotion. What Do I Do?

I Changed My Mind and No Longer Want to Use the Promotion. How Do I Turn It Off?
To stop using the free transactions promotion, you will just need to disable FreshBooks Payments on the invoices you send out. You can do this by unselecting the “Accept Credit Cards” option when creating an invoice. Also, if you change your mind before the promotion expires you can re-enable FreshBooks Payments on some or all of your invoices at any time.
