What’s New on FreshBooks? Monthly Product Update, July 2017

July 25, 2017

With July quickly coming to a close, we bring you the FreshBooks monthly product update. Check it out!

At FreshBooks, small business owners are our number one (that’s you!) With that in mind, we’re constantly finding ways to improve and innovate FreshBooks to suit your needs today, so you can thrive tomorrow.

Here’s what’s new and improved on FreshBooks this month.

What’s New?

Enjoy the freedom to add discounts to your Recurring Templates, making it easier to reward prompt clients or encourage customer loyalty.

Keyboard Shortcut for Your Customer Support Key: Whenever you need to call our Support team, simply log into your account and press CTRL + ALT + K on your keyboard to quickly find your Support Key.

What’s Improved?

Recurring Templates & Recurring Payments: We’ve made improvements to easily ensure your Recurring Templates are enabled when Recurring Payments are created. You’re also able to see the transaction fee information during setup as well.

Service Rates & Assign Services to Projects: You can now assign services to Projects, as well as designate different rates for each service. This will allow you to bill more accurately for your time!

View Your Invoices in Multiple Tabs: From the Invoices section, you can now open any invoice in a new browser tab window. (This is particularly helpful for those who like to work across several invoices simultaneously.)

Discounts on Recurring Templates: Enjoy the freedom to add discounts to your Recurring Templates, making it easier to reward prompt clients or encourage customer loyalty.

Recurring Template View: Viewing Recurring Templates will now default by the client’s company name instead of the client’s first and last name, making it consistent with the Invoices section.

Estimate Conversations on iOS & Estimate Notifications: It’s now possible to converse with your clients on Estimates using the FreshBooks Mobile App for iOS. What’s more, you’ll be alerted via our Notifications on the web whenever a Client accepts or sends in a message on any Estimate.

Live Links in Reports: You can now dig deeper in certain reports by clicking on any link on the page (e.g. Clients and Projects on the Time Entry Details report.)

Opening Links as Tabs: Keep tabs on all parts of your business, at anytime. Right-clicking is now supported so you can open Invoices, Estimates, Expenses and Projects in multiple browser tabs.

New Statuses for Recurring Templates & Recurring Payments: Auto-Paid, Auto-Sent and Auto-Draft statuses have now been added to quickly identify which Recurring Template has saved payment information via Recurring Payments.

Recurring Template & Invoices: Click on any blue date next to any Recurring Template to see all Invoices generated by that Template.

Archiving Status: You can now archive Invoices, Clients and Expenses to keep your lists organized. To view archived data, click on the View Archived button at the bottom of the list.

Easily Switch Between Businesses on Android: If you have multiple businesses on FreshBooks, you can now switch from one account to the other right from your Android using the FreshBooks Mobile App for Android. Just tap your avatar in the top-left to switch or learn more here.

Until next month!
