Each year since 1963, the United States Small Business Administration celebrates the contributions of small businesses with a week filled with seminars and speeches. National Small Business Week this year is May 12 – 16 in the U.S.

According to Google, approximately 543,000 new businesses get started each month. And speaking of Google, they are offering a promotional code worth $20 for Helpouts in areas like online advertising, branding and web design to people who join the Google Business Community on Google+ between May 12 – 16.
List of National Small Business Week activities
This year during National Small Business Week, the Small Business Administration is holding a series of events in four U.S. cities that will address important issues such as financing, growth strategies and innovation. But lots of other organizations, states, cities and companies also hold events, many of which are online. Facebook launches Facebook Fit Boot Camps
To help small businesses succeed, and learn how to use Facebook as a marketing vehicle, the social media network is offering a series of events across the U.S. this summer.
