Thank you for supporting Second Harvest

Thank you to all who helped us deliver meals this holiday with Second Harvest. By clicking that magic button in your email, we were able to deliver 40,000 meals to those in need.

Second Harvest is the largest food rescue program in Canada. Since 1985, they’ve been picking up donated, surplus food (which would otherwise go to waste) and delivering it to over 200 community agencies around Toronto. With a mantra of No Waste, No Hunger, Second Harvest has prevented over 50 million pounds of greenhouse gasses from entering the earth’s atmosphere while delivering enough food to provide over 22,000 meals a day.

On December 10th, a group of FreshBookers had the opportunity to volunteer with Second Harvest and sort food from donations collected throughout the year. The team sorted through over 3,000 lbs, of food, that’s about 3,000 additional meals going out this holiday season.
