Accepting credit cards from your mobile app is easy, fast and secure. Receiving payments online by credit card can be done through any one of our payment gateway providers, which you can read more about here.
Some payment gateways can be enabled from within the Invoice itself (like FreshBooks Payments), while others you’ll need to set up in advance on the web browser with these steps first.
iOS Devices
To enable a payment gateway on your iOS device, follow these steps:

- Once logged in, go to the Invoices section
- Either create a new Invoice with the + button, or tap on an existing Invoice, then tap on the edit button in the top corner
- Scroll to the bottom of the Invoice to the Online Payment section
- Tap on the payment gateway of your choice to enable it
- Tap on Save to finish and continue with saving/sending your Invoice.
Android Devices
To enable a payment gateway on your Android device, follow these steps:

- Once logged in, go to the Invoices section
- Either create a new Invoice with the + button, or tap on an existing Invoice, then tap on the pencil icon button in the top corner
- Scroll to the bottom of the Invoice and tap on the Online Payment section

- Tap on the payment gateway of your choice to enable it
- Tap on Done
- Then tap on Save to finish and continue with saving/sending your Invoice.

I enabled FreshBooks Payments for the first time on the mobile app. What are my next steps?
Once you’ve sent out your first Invoice with FreshBooks Payments enabled, you’ll need to finalize the setup of your WePay account (who we partner with to provide FreshBooks Payments). You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to do this. For more details, you can get started here.
