Get notified about new FreshBooks Payments on Slack
Use Zapier to automatically post new FreshBooks payments to Slack in a chat message.
Pick what you want the message to include, and the Slack channel where you want it shared. Then, you’ll get notifications in Slack about new FreshBooks payments as they are received.
You will need:
Getting your accounts ready
If you are setting up a new account, log in to find your account API URL and Authentication token. They can be found under the Freshbooks API tab of the My Account menu option.
Make a note of your URL and new token to use when connecting your account.
Note: Slack requires a Team to be setup as well as account access via an email address

Choose your FreshBooks account from the drop-down menu, or connect a new account.
- To connect a new account, enter your FreshBooks account subdomain and Auth token, and click Yes, continue.
Choose an existing Slack account from the drop-down menu, or connect a new account.
If you are connecting a new account, enter your Slack team domain and click Sign In.
- Enter your Slack email address and click password.
Click Sign In.
- Set up the Slack action field settings.
You will need to specify a Slack channel to use for this integration. The default is usually #general if you haven’t set up another channel.
Note: You can include any of the data available for the FreshBooks payment in the Text of the Slack message. They can be selected from the Insert fields buttons.
- Click Save + finish to complete the Zap.
Now test the Zap to make sure it works. Once you’re satisfied with the results, you’re all set to start automatically creating Slack messages from your FreshBooks payments.
Note: If you ever want to change this FreshBooks to Slack integration, just go to your Zapier dashboard and tweak anything you’d like.
