How do I connect my Braintree payment gateway to FreshBooks?

Do you have a Braintree account and want to connect it to your FreshBooks account? Are you thinking of signing up for a Braintree account and want to see what is required to get it connected with your FreshBooks account?

First, you will need to get the MerchantID, Private Key and Public Key from Braintree and you can get them by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the Control Panel in your Braintree account
  2. Go to Settings and then My User
  3. Click the orange link that says “API Keys”. If you dont see any API keys appear, click “Generate New”
  4. Now you should see both the private and public API keys.
Now that you have the API keys, you can copy and paste them into the appropriate place in your FreshBooks account.
  1. Log into your FreshBooks account.
  2. Click on the **Settings** link in the top right corner of your screen.
  3. Click on the **Online Payments** section.
  4. Check off the box for Braintree and copy and paste the information you got from the first part into the corresponding fields.
  5. Click on the green Save button at the bottom of the page and you are done!
