Payments Settings - Accepted Credit Card Types

FreshBooks gives you the ability to accept payments from multiple card types; Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and some lesser used cards (such as Discover, Diners Club and JCB).

Check with your Payment Gateway to see which cards they are able to process. To change your Payment Settings so your Clients are able to pay with other Credit Cards, head to your Settings tab, then to Accept Credit Cards.

On the right of your screen, you’ll see Payments Settings, and an edit button next to ‘Accepted Credit Cards’:


Clicking on edit will show this pop-up, where you’re able to change your accepted Credit Card settings:


Remember to click Save when you make any changes! In this example, I’ve enabled American Express payments on my account, so now my Clients will have the option to pay their Invoices using their AmEx card.

If we now look at the ‘Accepted Credit Cards’ section, American Express is also listed:
