Have you ever been with a client who was ready to pay, but you had no way to accept their payment? You had to wait for them to get home so they could pay you from their computer, which wasn’t convenient for either of you – or even worse, they got home and forgot to pay you right away. Never worry about that again with the FreshBooks Card Reader.
Now you can order your very own FreshBooks Card Reader so you can easily accept credit cards wherever business takes you, quickly and securely right from your iPhone, iPad or Android Phone. No more waiting for your clients, running to the bank to deposit checks or having to carry around wads of cash. Just fire up the FreshBooks app, plug in the reader and take your customer’s payment on the spot. The entire process, from plugged to paid, takes less than a minute.
Plus you’ll keep your business safe and secure by being able to accept the new standard chip credit cards as well as the older magnetic stripe swipe cards.
Developed and designed by FreshBooks, the Card Reader is powered by FreshBooks Payments and integrates seamlessly with your FreshBooks account. This means:
- The FreshBooks Card Reader works right out of the box
- Automatic recording of payments and transaction fees
- Automatic deposits into your bank account
- Automatic payment receipts sent to your clients
- Award winning customer support
Why Should I Care?
Many businesses are becoming more and more mobile – working from home or a coworking space, meeting clients at coffee shops and making phone calls in the car. Your accounting already keeps up with your mobile workflow with the FreshBooks app and now your payments will too.
No one wants to meet with a client who is ready to pay, send them an invoice and then have to wait for the client to get to home to their computer before they can pay you. With the FreshBooks Card Reader you’ll be able to accept payment from your client right on the spot and have everything automatically recorded in FreshBooks – with no set-up required on your end.
Why it’s important to accept chip cards
The FreshBooks Card Reader is one of the few mobile card readers that’s prepared to accept both the new EMV chip cards and the older magnetic stripe cards. EMV cards are more commonly referred to as chip cards – they’re the ones with the fancy metal chip on the left-side. As of October 2015, businesses have been required to accept more secure chip-enabled credit cards.
Why this matters for you: credit card companies have shifted liability onto businesses themselves. If you swipe a chip card instead of ‘dipping the chip’, you and your business are on the hook for any fraudulent transactions, not the card companies. Fret not – the FreshBooks Card Reader is ready for you to dip the chip on your clients’ cards so you can get paid quickly and securely.
