Summer is finally here! And with all these new features added to FreshBooks, you’ll be wishing it was summertime all year long.

Use Retainers to Manage Workload and Forecast Income

Late last month, a new feature was added to FreshBooks: Retainers. Now you can bill your Client for a fixed amount upfront and then track time towards a Retainer. Use this new feature to collect recurring client payments, track hours against the allotted time and avoid scope creep.

TIP: Only available on Plus and Premium plans.

Seamlessly Manage Your Clients with Our Newest Partner: HubSpot

The Invoice List Improvements You’ve Been Waiting For

Managing your invoices will be easy peasy with these new improvements to the Invoice list view:

  • Description column added
  • Issue Date and Due Date columns combined
  • Recurring Template or parent Retainer links now available
  • Partial payments now show the remaining balance on hover

Plus, whenever a new Invoice is created, your Terms, Online Payment details and Due Dates will instead default to the same settings from the last invoice created.

Review Your Online Payments in a Jiffy

Want to quickly review your online payments, check out payment statuses or see which transaction fees have been paid? Now you can. Under the Manage Online Payments setting, you will now see a full list of all your online transactions.

Add a Personal Touch with Editable Subject Lines

You asked. We delivered. Subject lines are now editable on Invoices, Estimates, Proposals and Reports. This is especially helpful if you bill your Clients in other languages.

Changing Clients on Projects Just Got Easier

Finally—you can now change Clients on Projects. If you do need to make a Client change, all billed and unbilled time entries will be updated to the new Client, but Invoices that are associated with those billed time entries will remain assigned to the original Client.
