The Fastest Way to Invoice Your Clients

Many of our customers have wanted help to get a better grip on their business. Sure, they already use FreshBooks to manage a lot of their financial information. They just need tools to help them make sense of it.

So, today I’m happy to say you can import your FreshBooks invoices and payments into Bootstrap, thanks to their integration.

You can now import your FreshBooks invoices and payments into Bootstrap for easy tax estimates.

Bootstrap hits a sweet spot, for sure. It helps small businesses in the United States get a handle on what’s happening in their business. If you keep track of your income and expenses in Bootstrap, and you file Schedule Cs, it will calculate tax estimates to pay Uncle Sam every quarter.

My favorite feature, however, is the eye on your yearly profit that sits in the top righthand corner. It’s very addicting to update Bootstrap after a job is done just to see how much money you just made!

I predict many of you will soon become addicted to your profit meter!

Looks like a great service, glad to see useful services pop-up that integrate with Freshbooks. Upon trying it out, it seems like they need better hosting though.

Their application seems to be running into issues scaling and handling requests. It seems that this blog post has caused a digg-like effect… “The Freshbooks Effect” ! :)

Being single-homed to Cogent doesn’t help much either. Also not having SSL is weak for a financial application. :(

Hope to see some improvements on their end– but looks very impressive for “day one”.

I would love to hear more about the performance issues. We regularly monitor the site and its performance.

My best guess is that the performance issues you are referring to have to do with the FreshBooks invoice download process. We have an item on our todo list to make it run in a background process. That way you won’t have to wait while your account is synchronized with FreshBooks.

Thanks for all of your comments and please let us know specifically the issues you are referring to and we’ll fix them right away. We take performance and reliability very seriously.

Will bootstrap be able to import my expense that I’ve already submitted through freshbooks?

Jake: currently we don’t download your expenses. The FreshBooks api does not currently provide a way for us to do that. We are looking in to a way to export your expenses from FreshBooks in a CSV file and then importing them into GoBootstrap.com. You can then start using GoBootstrap.com to track you no reimbursable expenses.

I’m definitely keen on seeing an expenses integration. I’ll look into what we can do at FreshBooks to make that happen.

Awesome, can’t wait to get my hands around this. I’m hoping this saves us from another IRS audit!
