IAC-EZ brings online bookkeeping to FreshBooks

by Sunir Shah  |  January 6/2009  |

IAC-EZ balances your books based on business data imported from FreshBooks

Ever wanted to balance your books using FreshBooks? With IAC-EZ, now you can.

When we first heard that long time FreshBooks customers, Heather Villa and Cory Becker, had teamed up to work on a secret project, we were very intrigued and excited. Well after months of feverish work, they have just released their new creation into the world and it brings a new kind of awesome to FreshBooks.

IAC-EZ is their just released online bookkeeping web application built for small business owners like most of the FreshBooks community. It makes balancing the books simple by boiling it down to the familiar daily business transactions like invoices, expenses, and payments. No double entry here!

Once you have your business data in IAC-EZ, you can quickly get useful information like your profit and loss statement, an estimate of your taxes, and your Chart of Accounts.

In fact, IAC-EZ already automatically imports your business data from FreshBooks, so you can continue to manage your daily business in one place. Use IAC-EZ as your accountant-friendly view on top of FreshBooks. Check out the screencast to see how it works.

You can be sure it makes sense for you because Heather built it with you in mind. Many FreshBooks customers already use Heather as their accountant, and IAC-EZ emerged from her desire to make their lives easier. Give it a whirl, and let us know how it goes!

If you liked this, check out our other add-ons. We’re always looking for better ways to fit into your world.

Tarch,

Thank you so much. We are working night and day. And don’t think we forgot about the balance sheet. I am mapping it, it is just going to take a bit to figure out how best to integrate it.

Thanks for your support!

Best,

Heather

I have talked to Heather and worked with Cory before being part of the Freshbooks community since the 2nd Site Days. I must say Heather knows the books and Cory knows the web so I’m sure this is going to be an excellent web application. I can’t wait to start my free trail and test out the application. Users of Freshbooks have been asking for this type of app for a long time so I’m glad to finally see one in production.

Keep up the good work Heather, Cory, and the rest of the IAC-EZ team.

Great Idea!

At the very least it needs recurring bills and ability to import of expenses from csv.

Would love to have auto linking with Wesabe.com for automatic transaction imports for business expenses (i.e tagged “business”)…charged to my credit or debit cards.

Glad their odd to a smashing start for a new product.

Wes! Thanks for the vote of confidence. We look forward to having you.

John! Good news :) Importing is coming soon (like right away you don’t have to wait long soon) – we just got Exporting up today.

As far as integrations into Wesabe.com, I will add it to the Wish List/Feature Request on the forums. I know we had some requests for Shoeboxed.com as well – both really good ideas.

We have 8 hands working development and it still seems like we just can’t get everything out as quick as we like. Make sure to check our forums: http://forum.iacez.com/viewtopic.php?id=18 we are literally releasing at least 3 new features a week until we get IAC-EZ exactly where we want it.

A little birdie told me once – better to release with what you have and keep building, then wait to release until you have everything you want, because the release date will be inevitably postponed!

I love FreshBooks Users :) You all Rock!

And, even though you have not already emailed – we are looking into it anyway – because we don’t like ‘something went wrong’ messages. :-D

And we are back, tested, fixed, resolved, all that good stuff.

Heh, from a technical standpoint, I don’t know. We restarted a program and it worked fine. But the developers would be the ones that could provide.the more in-depth details. Sorry for the issue!

Everything is cool but when is multicurrency going to come ? rarely nowadays people do business restricted to one part of the world

Floggy and Bartechco – Currently we have the option for US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Pound and Euro – but more currencies are coming, that is really just a matter of flipping a switch and a hugh.

Multicurrency is tricky, it is not something that is ‘ez’ in itself, so not only do we have to implement it but we have to make it ‘ez’ to work it. We don’t want your dashboard cluttered with 500 different currency snapshots, we also don’t want you to have to calculate your own currency gain and loss with the ever fluctuating economy.

So, we will be putting in more currency symbols over the next 7-10 days and multi currency is on our road map, but I can’t say when we will get there.

We support every country, the only difference or exception are that tax estimates are currently just US based.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
