Today FreshBooks is featured in a great magazine, Canadian Business. They did a good job of telling the FreshBooks story, how our co-founder and CEO gives back to the startup community and capturing the FreshBooks vision for what it’s like to build a tech company outside of Silicon Valley.

A highlight for us:

Every Wednesday, Mike McDerment, the co-founder and CEO of FreshBooks, a Toronto-based online accounting service, has dinner with an aspiring entrepreneur he thinks he can help. There are rules for these meals. One, the entrepreneur gets to pick the restaurant (though it has to be a place that McDerment hasn’t eaten at before), and two, McDerment picks up the tab.

A creative idea by McDerment. It will let him to know different challenge for small companies and it gives the authority for his business. The only concern could be “Does McDerment also listen to new suggestions or just talk?”
