Step 1: Log In or Create a Stripe Account 

To begin with, or if you haven’t already, create a Stripe new account on the Stripe website. You’ll need one to continue these steps, so go ahead and open a new tab in your browser right now–I’ll wait.

Now, log into your Shopify store as usual. In most countries, you’ll have the option to accept Shopify Payments, Powered by Stripe. In some, you’ll only be able to add Stripe as a secondary option. Depending on your account type, you may not be able to link your Stripe account at all. In that case, you’ll have to create a new Shopify account.

Navigate to your Shopify Admin page and click the Settings button at the bottom of the screen.

On your Settings page, you’ll see a link that says “Payment providers.” Click on that. This will open a window where you can choose from various third-party payment providers. Choose the option for third-party payment providers, and a drop-down menu will appear. Find Stripe in the list of options, and select it.
